| The Újpest Court of Justice was built between 1908-1909,
during the reign of Francis Joseph, when the minister of justice was Antal
Günther, and when Rónai Kamill, Royal Curian Judge, was the president
of the Pest County Royal Court. It was built under the supervision of
Cserba Ferenc, Royal High Court Judge and Head of the Royal Court, based
on the plans of the architect Jablonszky Ferenc and was constructed by
master builders, Kallos A. and Koch R. The basic area of the building,
its character and its functions have not been changed for the last 90
years. The interior, though, has been modified to meet functional demands. The Budapest 4th and 15th District Public Prosecutor´s
Office is also seated in the court building. The 4th and 15th District
Land Registry Office and notaries public worked here until legal rearrangements
took place. |
